The cabin from the outside:
It was an A-frame with one bedroom downstairs and a loft with a double bed and a futon upstairs. This is inside with a view of the loft upstairs:

We spent most of our time reading, doing puzzles and playing games.
A really fun game that we found at the cabin was called MasterMind. It is a game where you try to decipher the pattern that your opponent has created. We played it alot!
On Friday we ventured over Steven's Pass to Leavenworth, a small town that has a Bavarian theme throughout. Even the gas stations and McDonald's were Bavarian themed! Leavenworth also has a very large Christmas celebration that starts with the lighting of the trees downtown on Thanksgiving weekend. It was pretty! Hal and I may have to venture back there sometime when we have more time to explore.Here is the downtown all lit up:
On Saturday we drove to the top of the pass where there was a nearly 5 foot base of snow for skiing and winter sports. The downhill resort is already open, but the cross country trails don't officially open until December 19 as cross country is not as popular as downhill in the mountains. Trails had been packed, but no tracks laid so we set out with snowshoes and skis and had a great time.
There was a pretty river near the trail head that hadn't frozen yet despite all the snow.
I really wanted a picture of Hal and I by the river, but we had to traverse a really big mountain of snow to get there.
Riley climbed up the snow mountain with no problem, but he got nervous at the top when he saw how steep it was going down. Here we are at the top of the snow mountain:
Hal went down first, so with alot of coaxing Riley decided to brave it also, and slipped and slid all the way down.
When he got to the bottom he was so relieved that he had kisses to give!
We had a great time over our long weekend and hope that your Thanksgivings were also filled with rest and love!
