PT Conference 2011

Hal writes:

A few months ago I was accepted to present at a national conference for a group that Anna belongs to. This is the third national conference I have presented at in the last three years. Unfortunately, Anna was not able to attend, so I went to New Orleans myself this past weekend. Since I did not attend many sessions, I had the opportunity to explore and take pictures.

Easter is late this year, so Mardi Gras is still a ways away, but Who Dat nation is already starting to decorate for the upcoming festivities.

One of Anna's friends from UMD, Katie, and her brother Miker were in town to run the marathon that weekend. The three of us did some exploring together. I also found them along the race route at mile 15 and unofficially ran in the marathon with them for a mile.

A shrimp po' boy sandwich.

The oldest cemetery. Had a chance to see some famous graves.

Jackson Square, an iconic view.

Explored Bourbon Street at 10am and 10pm on the same day. Each gave a different look and feel to the French Quarter. ;)

Introducing Scout

Hal writes:

Anna may add more to the story on this post if she chooses to edit it. This her new dog Scout. Scout came to us from a rescue society that needed to a new home for him. He is an 8 month old Italian Greyhound but may have a bit of Beagle in him. The photos below are all from my cell phone, so not the best quality.

He has puppy energy, but doesn't turn down the opportunity to nap in your lap.

He's about the same size as Riley, but with longer, lankier legs and shorter hair.

Riley doesn't take to sharing his toys very well...

Anna is working on training him. As you can see, he has picked up "sit" pretty quickly.

Kevin and Amber get married

Hal writes:

Last week I had the opportunity to be the Best Man in the wedding of Kevin and Amber. Here is a look at the reception space that I helped decorate.

The bride and groom rehearse some music that they would play at the reception.

The "other Kevin" and I at the rehearsal. Ladies, he's single and owns five homes. (He really does, he just rents out four of them.)

Congrats Kevin and Amber!
